Evacuation Chair Training

For Operatives and Trainers

What does the law say?

Evacuation Chair Training

Under the Disability Discrimination Act 2005, it is unlawful to discriminate against any person with regard to their employment and this includes evacuation of your premises in the event of a fire.

Being left behind in a stairwell or refuge whilst other colleagues are leaving is not only harmful, it's a clear breach of regulations.

In the event of an incident, it's vital that any evacuation chair procedures are carried out correctly.

EH Systems will come along to your business premises and carry out effective training on your equipment. In addition, a short course will cover risk assessments and legislation.

Evacuation Chair Training for Operatives

Evacuation Chair Training

The course content consists of a short theory session covering key areas such as risk assessment and legislation along with practical use of the chair.

There is plenty of time for the delegates to practice and gain confidence in its and their ability.

The course is run using your own equipment, however, EH Systems does have chairs that can be used if required.

After completing the course the delegate will:

Evacuation Chair Training, Key Trainer

Evacuation Chair Training

This entails training the delegate to understand and deliver the training listed above. It is more intensive and uses videos and a training pack as well as more practical use of the evacuation chair.

Upon completion, the delegates will be able to carry out their own training sessions and safely instruct others.

Please note: This does not qualify the Key Trainer to train externally/outside of the company they are employed within.
